Anxiety and fears
Separation worries, exam anxiety, social fears.
Gentle, confidential support for children and teenagers at SafeMind Studio on Baner-Balewadi Road, with guidance for parents. In person or online.

Parents usually reach out after weeks of worry: a child who has stopped talking about school, a teen who is angry or withdrawn, a younger child who cries before every morning. You know your child best, and your instinct to ask for help is a good one.
At SafeMind Studio in Balewadi, our psychologists work with children and teenagers, and with their parents. For adults, see our psychologist and psychology counselling pages. Read why your inner child needs attention for more on how early experiences shape us. Learn about the team on our about page.
A child psychologist helps children understand and express feelings, builds coping skills and works with parents on how to respond. With younger children, this often happens through play, drawing and conversation. With teenagers, it looks more like talking in a private space away from pressure.
Parents are part of the process. We share ideas you can use at home, so the support continues between sessions.
Many difficulties are temporary. If something lasts several weeks, grows stronger or affects school and friendships, a conversation with a psychologist can help you decide.
Every child is different, but you may want to seek advice if you notice:
Common concerns include the following. For couples or family issues, see couples therapy.
Separation worries, exam anxiety, social fears.
Sadness, irritability or big feelings.
Pressure, performance, bullying or refusal.
Anger, defiance, tantrums.
Making and keeping friends, self-esteem.
Moves, separation, loss or a new sibling.
Finding balance and boundaries.
Peer pressure, body image, direction.
Ways to respond that support your child.

No. Children are never forced. Sessions go at their pace, and building trust comes first.
You are part of your child’s support team. The psychologist will share ideas, explain what is happening in clear terms and agree what to keep confidential. With teenagers, we usually balance privacy with keeping parents informed, and agree on this up front.
Sessions are shaped to your child’s age.
A friendly start so your child feels comfortable.
Younger children express through play and drawing, teens through talking.
Practical ways to cope with feelings and situations.
A short update on progress and ideas for home.
Regular reviews of goals and pace.
A simple, supportive and structured process, explained to you at the start.
Share your concerns and your child's background.
Gentle introduction and observation.
Regular support for your child with parent updates.
Review progress and continue as needed.
In-person sessions at our Balewadi studio suit younger children. Online can work for teens and busy families.

My journey towards SafeMind has been a process of self-development. As an empath, I have always connected strongly to others and their struggles, caring to help them navigate through their difficulties. Yet, before being able to reach out to others, I needed to learn to listen to myself, set my boundaries, understand and nurture my needs. Only then have I been able to dedicate myself fully to serving others. With over ten years of experience, I have logged hundreds of hours listening to people’s struggles while endeavouring to create a judgement-free space for people to express their deepest fears and darkest thoughts. Over these 10 years, I have worked with children, teens, and adults, addressing various complex issues, including relationship and parent-child problems, ADHD, depression, emotional difficulties, and a sense of feeling stuck in one’s life. Drawing from my vast experience and employing a number of therapeutic approaches, such as CBT, DBT, EFT, NLP, and knowledge of neuroplasticity, I offer my clients a truly integrated approach to solving their problems. I believe that being in therapy should be a comfortable, safe experience, where the client is an active participant in the process rather than being told what to do by the therapist. Today, I am humbled and truly grateful for the ability to help people all around the globe, both locally, at SafeMind in Balewadi-Baner, Pune, and internationally, via online therapy. My mission with SafeMind is to help you return to yourself, to your true self!
Experienced. Compassionate. Here for You.
